  • This “Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender” was given to me as a present quite a while ago. I did not think of being a wonderful cook and thought that it wouldn’t get a lot of use, but it has.

I have given this product 2 stars less than it deserves, not because of the quality, versatility and the usability of the product as such, but because of the misleading and incomplete Item Description on the Amazon site. Very poor! They do not mention Voltage. I’m disappointed. Recently I bought one intending to be given as a Gift to be used where Voltage is 220V. Usually it comes in both 110V to 220V. I am hoping that the Amazon Return Center will replace one with the correct Voltage or they will help me with a Refund. Up till now, they have been fabulous in their Customer Service and in solving any issues. I hope they’ll keep up to the mark !! Fingers crossed!

Now for the best bit and I think this write-up will be useful for at least a few who are interested in blending : I have used it to puree meals I have cooked for the family (for the youngest, he loved having a full Christmas lunch, it is so much cheaper to make your own baby foods using this and not messy, as the bits can go into the dishwasher. Dice carrots for throwing into a casserole and the ‘carrot’ dislikers might not even notice they have eaten them. All manner of vegetables have been chopped in this including onions and they haven’t tainted the items. Easier than using a knife especially if the children decide that they want to have a go at chopping veg. to help prepare a meal.

I have also used it to make lovely smoothie style drinks using ice cream and milk shake mix, pop a few chopped pieces of fruit into it and you have a delicious fruity and healthy drink for the kids or a healthy drink for anyone not able to eat properly. It is amazing what drinks you can come up with using the blender attachment. Tried to to chop ice up for drinks too and it works a treat.

It is so easy to change the implements over, no mess and no fuss, just a really useful kitchen item to have in anyone’s kitchen. It doesn’t take up much space either which for me I think is a big issue, as not everyone wants to have their kitchen work tops filled with big, bulky electrical appliances. Am pretty sure though that once you have one of these in your kitchen it will be being used at most times for preparing your meals, the blades are lovely and sharp, plus the items you do chop all fall into the beaker for an easy no mess work area.

For any blender, buy one with the end bit (detachable portion) made of Stainless Steel as it enables you to use it / dip it in hot liquids/purees while cooking. The plastic ones will melt and get damaged.

  • I gave this as a gift because the receipient specifically requested this immersion hand blender. I did investigate this and other hand blenders at a store, and would not have chosen this one for myself or anyone because it makes far too much noise. Otherwise, it appears well-made and is a suitable size. There are other brands that cost slightly more that do operate very quietly, and that for me is the single most important criteria for owning and using one of these. I personally feel that the Cuisinart brand of kitchen appliances does not offer the quality and value of several other brands.

  • It’s well worth the price. Works great once you get used to what it’s good for and not good for.

  • The attachment comes apart while I’m using. I threw away my receipt, and am stuck with this less than expected product.

  • Braun Hand Blender 600 Watt Variable Speed
I have had various Braun blenders in the past and am looking for a 220 volt Braun as I move overseas. Unfortunately, this listing gives no information except 600 watts and the price. Surely the seller doesn’t expect people to buy an unknown product at this price!

I love the Mixing cup, wisk and food processor; however, the plastic base of the blender attachment has several hairline cracks in it after only one use and the shaft is falling out of the base.

After about 4 months of use the plastic collar that locks onto the blade attachment was sheared away. Motor still runs fine but the blade won’t turn anymore.

So far, I like this blender. It is very easy to use and to clean. Today, I made two smoothies with one banana, one apple, three small oranges and a little apple juice. The fruit was cut into chunks/quartered. After the fruit was blended, it was more like a puree which is what I expected. That is why I added a little apple juice.

The beaker has measurements along the side, which is nice but the numbers are hard to read. Apparently, you cannot buy the other attachments for this version of the blender. I did not know that because now that I have it, I would like to purchase the whisk attachment. It seems odd to me that a company would develop something like this but not so that customers could buy the additional attachments.

Added Note: I’ve used the blender a couple more times. Because of the shape of the blender attachment, it can stand alone in the mixture. I was able to stand the blender in the beaker, while I stepped away to get other ingredients. That was helpful.

This has the usual KitchenAid high quality we’ve come to expect. Sure, the specs were given, but without getting out a ruler or tape measure I wasn’t able to correctly picture the size of this mixer in my mind. It is quite large, especially when compared to the Braun I was replacing, making the KitcheAide a bit large and “unwieldy” to use. It surely does the job, and the variable speeds are great. It’s a fine product!
