- I was going to buy this stick blender, and then I read a review with some troubling info, so I switched to the Braun Multiquick, and I’m really glad I did.
According to the review I read, this Cuisinart Smart Stick can only be used for 15 seconds at a time, according to the manual. The parts are not dishwasher safe. And it only has one speed – on or off.
The Braun Multiquick, on the other hand, is AWESOME. All parts but the motor are dishwasher safe. It has several speeds – I think 10 – plus a “turbo” mode. And you can use it as long as you want – no 15-second limit. I use it for everything. I puree soups right in the pot without the mess of transferring to a food processor. We make smoothies in the large cup that comes with it, which fits the stick blender perfectly. And even though I wasn’t really interested in having the blender-looking attachment, I use it all the time. In fact, the 400 watt motor makes it a lot more powerful than our “real” blender. It makes mincemeat of ice and frozen berries. The other thing I love is the “turbo” mode – it’s just so powerful, it zips through everything.

- This hand mixer has a lot of power, but only one speed…super fast! About the only thing I found it good for was whipping cream – and I had to be really careful or it would splatter everywhere. The food processor part of it is awful, mainly because it only has one speed and beats everything up to mush. The image they show of the product with large pieces of veggies in it have been cut with a knife and placed in the container, it does not cut anything in large pieces. I stupidly tried to mash potatoes in this and they came out the consistency of glue (as did every other vegetable I tried). I do not recommend.

I bought 2-month ago and attachment is not properly attache with the blender and is not working properly. We have to hold while we are going to blend any item, what should I have to do next can we send it back to you and you will exchange with the same new Hand Blender or could you fix it. Please send me regarding this concern which I bought from you.

Rating: 1 / 5 - Maybe I’m getting stupid, but I sliced both my thumbs when opening the chopper/grinder assembly.
I read that the blade could be put in upside-down for a blunt edge, so I tried to loosen the blade attachment to try it. It was stuck, and when it suddenly gave way, the blade dug into my left and right thumbs.
Not a great start.

- Braun Hand Blender 600 Watt Variable Speed
I have had various Braun blenders in the past and am looking for a 220 volt Braun as I move overseas. Unfortunately, this listing gives no information except 600 watts and the price. Surely the seller doesn’t expect people to buy an unknown product at this price!

I love the Mixing cup, wisk and food processor; however, the plastic base of the blender attachment has several hairline cracks in it after only one use and the shaft is falling out of the base.

After about 4 months of use the plastic collar that locks onto the blade attachment was sheared away. Motor still runs fine but the blade won’t turn anymore.

So far, I like this blender. It is very easy to use and to clean. Today, I made two smoothies with one banana, one apple, three small oranges and a little apple juice. The fruit was cut into chunks/quartered. After the fruit was blended, it was more like a puree which is what I expected. That is why I added a little apple juice. The beaker has measurements along the side, which is nice but the numbers are hard to read. Apparently, you cannot buy the other attachments for this version of the blender. I did not know that because now that I have it, I would like to purchase the whisk attachment. It seems odd to me that a company would develop something like this but not so that customers could buy the additional attachments.
Added Note: I’ve used the blender a couple more times. Because of the shape of the blender attachment, it can stand alone in the mixture. I was able to stand the blender in the beaker, while I stepped away to get other ingredients. That was helpful.

This has the usual KitchenAid high quality we’ve come to expect. Sure, the specs were given, but without getting out a ruler or tape measure I wasn’t able to correctly picture the size of this mixer in my mind. It is quite large, especially when compared to the Braun I was replacing, making the KitcheAide a bit large and “unwieldy” to use. It surely does the job, and the variable speeds are great. It’s a fine product!
