Comment posted on Oster Hand Blender with Chopper – White by J. Moore
I had an earlier model of the Oster system and thought this one would work as well as my older system did. It does not. The chopper attachment’s lid is difficult to close and lock into place. Struggled with it for about ten minutes before I could get it closed. Otherwise it worked fine. Would not recommend this to a friend.

- Doesn’t chop, Vegy’s get stuck under blade and blade won’t turn. This is not designed properly. If blade was spinning and there was an opening to throw vegys in this would work. Don’t buy it

Why would I even consider putting out money for this?” Well, here we are a decade or so later and I’ve heard all the food experts saying “You can’t live without one of these in your kitchen.” I’m still thinking “Are these people on crack?”
Well, this weekend a co-worker gave me a bunch of over ripe tomatoes from her garden. I took them home and decided the ONLY thing that could be done with them was to make sauce. I blanched them yesterday and boiled them down and threw them into the refrigerator thinking that I’d do something with them today. I got up this morning and decided I’d make chicken cacciatore. I decided to go to get one of these gadgets and see how it worked.
I pulled the boiled down tomatoes out of the fridge and heated them up. I popped this thing in and started it up. HOLY COW! I was amazed! I ended up with the most beautiful tomato sauce I have ever made! The consistency is that of the best store bought sauce you can buy, minus the odd plasticy look after receiving the dies and perservatives that go along with those sauces. I’m sold on this product.
I haven’t used the chopper or the cup. I’m not a chopper, the only way your ever going to get chopped anything is to do it by hand… any powered appliance is going to give you pureed or powdered product with chunks… nothing beats chopping by hand and I certainly do not have an aversion to using a good chefs knife to chop my produce or nuts or whatever. If you want it to look good and taste good you are just going to have to take the time to do some things by hand. It’s the attention to detail and the love that you put into it that makes a simple dish taste like HEAVEN to those who are consuming it. If you’re trying to cut corners or save time then it will show not only in the look, but the taste as well. Food should never be thrown together, take time to get to know your food and it will serve you well. Not only in the nutrients that your body will derive from it, but the compliments and respect of your friends, family and guests.

- Braun Hand Blender 600 Watt Variable Speed
I have had various Braun blenders in the past and am looking for a 220 volt Braun as I move overseas. Unfortunately, this listing gives no information except 600 watts and the price. Surely the seller doesn’t expect people to buy an unknown product at this price!

I love the Mixing cup, wisk and food processor; however, the plastic base of the blender attachment has several hairline cracks in it after only one use and the shaft is falling out of the base.

After about 4 months of use the plastic collar that locks onto the blade attachment was sheared away. Motor still runs fine but the blade won’t turn anymore.

So far, I like this blender. It is very easy to use and to clean. Today, I made two smoothies with one banana, one apple, three small oranges and a little apple juice. The fruit was cut into chunks/quartered. After the fruit was blended, it was more like a puree which is what I expected. That is why I added a little apple juice. The beaker has measurements along the side, which is nice but the numbers are hard to read. Apparently, you cannot buy the other attachments for this version of the blender. I did not know that because now that I have it, I would like to purchase the whisk attachment. It seems odd to me that a company would develop something like this but not so that customers could buy the additional attachments.
Added Note: I’ve used the blender a couple more times. Because of the shape of the blender attachment, it can stand alone in the mixture. I was able to stand the blender in the beaker, while I stepped away to get other ingredients. That was helpful.

This has the usual KitchenAid high quality we’ve come to expect. Sure, the specs were given, but without getting out a ruler or tape measure I wasn’t able to correctly picture the size of this mixer in my mind. It is quite large, especially when compared to the Braun I was replacing, making the KitcheAide a bit large and “unwieldy” to use. It surely does the job, and the variable speeds are great. It’s a fine product!
